After the original Blackbird SR-71 was phased out of service, the US military waited 15 years before attempting such a project again.  Cost restraints and the lack of a "Cold" war meant there was little funding or need for such a project.  Finally after increasing hostility with the EEC the need arose again for a high altitude, high speed reconnaisance aircraft.  The Blackbird II project began, with the advent of Delta technology and the scramjets that propel them were reaching faster and faster speeds.  The Blackbird II makes full use of that technology, it also makes use of improved steath technology advances to keep it radar invisible.  This aircraft is just short of Delta, and if needed can reach safety in orbit, it can even withstand re-entry, although it must be refueled first.  (A very difficult proposition since it has no docking capabilities.)  Since this aircraft can outrun any missile launched at it, it was oringinally going to be unarmed, just like the original Blackbird.  At the last minute this was changed due to the fact that top brass didn't want their nearly 70 million dollar toy to be completely defenseless in the case something went wrong.  This became especially important when it was learned the EEC  had their own version, the MIG-308 Firefox.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: military radio W/scrambler, ECM, ECCM, satellite uplink, full visual suite,   ejection seats, damage control, chaff, Fire extinguisher, laser detector, 12 hours life support, auto-pilot, navigation systems, cybernetic linkage, military radar with target ID and look down, radar detector, laser communicator, chaff and flare dispenser, environment control, stealth capability, full reconnaisance suite cyberlinked to navigator,

The "Blade" is the USAF's only trans-atmospheric capable attack plane still in production.  With the use of small maneuvering thrusters built along the entire body of the craft, the "Blade" is also fully capable of spaceflight.   Although the F-44 is not capable of acheiving orbit it is capable of re-entry.  Normally the F-44 is launched in groups of 4 attached to a booster rocket, into space where they are stored on a U.S. military spacecraft.  The Blade is the first craft capable of dogfighting in space and the U.S. is extremely proud of their achievement.  Perhaps the greatest strength of the F-44 is its ability to be launched from its facility and provide escort to shuttles making re-entry.  It is also used to prvide back up to U.S. aircraft in high altitude in case of an attack by enemy forces.  Even in atmospheric flight the Blade is the most maneuverable aircraft on the planet, and has become the official aircraft of the Air Force Thunderbirds team, who perform exhibitions both on earth and in orbit.  (Note the armor of this vehicle is to protect against heat from re-entry and from space debris, the combat sp of this vehicle is actually 10.)

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: military radio W/scrambler, ECM, ECCM, satellite uplink, full visual suite,   ejection seats, damage control, chaff, Fire extinguisher, laser detector, 12 hours life support, auto-pilot, navigation systems, cybernetic linkage, military radar with target ID and look down, radar detector, laser communicator, chaff and flare dispenser, environment control, maneuver thruster system,

ARMAMENT: The weapon systems are special for the F-44, when in space the main guns are two enhanced versions of the "PHOTON" assult energy weapons, which provide double the shots/damage.   In atmospheric conditions these canons rotate and 20mm MG's move into place.
The plane also has concealed missile bays able to hold up to 10 short range heat seeking missiles (damage is 6D10)

Italian manufactured for the EEC, the Firebird represents a new kind of fighter, or at least a new role for one.  While the firebird itself is nothing special, it is the plane being used by the italians to develop a fighter aircraft with the ability to escort shuttles and deltas into space.  The F-45 hopes to accomplish this by being fitted with an experimental disposable booster rocket to allow it to achieve the high altitudes needed to accomplish its task of making sure launches are unhindered by enemy aircraft.  The EEC is finding this role of utmost importance due to the underlying hostilities between the EEC backed ESA and the USAF, who currently have a similar project in development.  While the Firebird has been on the market serving Italy and the  EEC for a few years now, its booster rocket is still in development.  (note: this vehicle cannot achieve orbit, the booster rocket does not have the range, and  if it did it would not be able to maneuver, nor would it be able to withstand re-entry.)

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: military radio W/scrambler, ECM, ECCM, ejection seats, damage control, chaff, Fire extinguisher, laser detector, 12 hours life support, auto-pilot, navigation systems, military radar with target ID and look down, radar detector, cybernetic linkage, laser communicator, chaff and flare dispenser, environment control, single use disposable booster (allows the aircraft to travel at speeds up to 17,000 mph to allow it to be able to keep up with launching spacecraft.)

In reaction to the US developing the Blackbird II the EEC went to the Russian developers of the MIG series of fighter aircraft.  In a joint effort, work began on the "Firefox" project.  A machine to compete with the US reconnaisance aircraft.  Using Russian blueprints developed at the end of the cold war, that never got put into production they had the foundation they needed.  What they came up with was an aircraft that although is physically different is virtually identical in ability and technology, although the Firefox is a little heavier armed than its American counterpart.  In effort to pay homeage to its Russian designers and to promote relations with the EEC and Russia the Aircraft kept its MIG designation.

Harbinger is the USAF's answer to the "Firebird".  The Harbinger itself, like the Firebird is a tried and tested naval interceptor.  The "Godspeed" sytem is the twin disposable rocket boosters which allow the Harbinger to achieve the necessary speeds to allow the Harbinger to act as escort for launching shuttles.  The "Godspeed" system is still in development.  The Americans are having a little more succes due to their use of twin boosters, however they are extremely over budget.

After the "Cold War" ended the American funding for the X-29 project was dropped in favor of stealth technology.  The British, in coordination with the EEC, bought all the research and development from Grummen including the prototypes and began to develop the project on their own.  The Starfighter is the final product of that research and is Great Britain's premiere fighter aircraft, serving EEC forces as well.  The Starfighter was years ahead of its time when initial development began, but since then most of the technological advances have become standard throughout the civilized world.  Still the Starfighter is incredibly maneuverable, and is one of the most responsive aircraft the world has ever seen.  Its greatest weakness is its total reliance on its computer systems, and if anything should happen to them the aircraft will become completely unoperational and drop like a rock.

The only fighter craft currently manufactured by South Africa, the plant that manufactures these aircraft is controlled by the African rebel forces.  It looks somewhat like a baby SR-71, but that is where the similarities end.  As state of the art as the craft looks it is generally thought of to be inferior.  The rebel forces don't have the money to implement state of the art technology, and barely manage to make due with the aircraft they currently posses.  None of these aircraft are being currently produced, as the rebels don't have the money to do so, but they do have a stable of 60, give or take a few.

Deep Sky is Americas latest top secret fighter, still undergoing testing at  Area 51, the aircraft boasts several new design features.  First its wings swing forard for high speed flight, while this isn't exactly new, the fact that the wings contract and scissor inside themselves is.  Also, the butterfly tail is adjustable, and for full out supersoninc flight, lowers to a flat positionflush behind the wings.  These and other innovations give the aircraft unmetched speed and agility in a supersonic fighter, and it will be interesting to see if they can make the plane affordable for production.  Only a pilot who has had his body replaced with a Wingman full conversion package can pilot this aircraft.

Rather than discontinue the Alleycat when new technolgies arise, it was instead decided that they would simply retool the orginal molds, and remake the F-50 from the ground up.  All the latest most state of the art technology has gone into this redesign.  At first glance the aircraft appears identical, however upon closer observation one will notice slight cosmetic changes which believe it or  not greatly increase the planes stability and agility.  In the cockpit the aircraft is completely redesigned, completely digital instrument panels and state of the latest in interface and HUD advancements have been installed.  These are still in the field testing phase, and have only been issued to the top naval pilots.

For it's size, this is the fastest aircraft in the world.  Slightly smaller than an F-50, yet it is able to achive MACH 4+.  These speeds are unheard of in a plane this small, and were thought all but impossible.  The project is being held under tight lockdown at a secret airbase in northern france, and no details of the plane have been released to the general public.   The extreme G-forces make this plane impossible for humans to pilot it, an Icarus or Wingman full conversion body is required.

In the spirit of continued peace and alliance between the EDF and Russia, top designers from both countries worked together to build this highly manueverable anti-naval aircraft, which faithfully serves both militaries from carrier based platforms.  It was mostly done as a sneer towards the US, but the aircraft itself was solid enough to be utilized.  The most impressive armament are the special anti-ship/air launched torpedoes the aircraft carry on the top side of their wings.  The aircraft waits for visual or sonar (from a sonar spotting aircraft) confirmation of enemy naval vessel, then fires the torpedoes.  Once the torpedoes enter the water they will float long enough to detect sonar activity (400km range), then engage the nearest target using the targets own sonar as a beacon.  Obviously these can't be used if friendly or civilian vessels are in the water,  but in open water against enemy ships or submarines, they are devastating.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: military radio W/scrambler, ECM, ECCM, satellite uplink, full visual suite,   ejection seats, damage control, chaff, Fire extinguisher, laser detector, 12 hours life support, auto-pilot, navigation systems, cybernetic linkage, military radar with target ID and look down, radar detector, laser communicator, chaff and flare dispenser, environment control,

The Blackbird II, the Firefox, the Ninjak, all of these aircraft evoke one word, speed.  And they all fall short of the XXL  Mercury, the single fastest aircraft in existence.  No human being can pilot this aircraft, only those who have undergone full body conversion.  Even the basic Wingman package isn't enough, and adjustments must be made to the braincase to prevent damage from the G-Forces that would cause severe damage otherwise (14,000eb mod).  New sensory and interface hardware must also be installed, (21,500eb mod, 2d6hl) to alow the pilot to fully integrate and control this amazing aircraft.  Developed by Mitsubishi for the US Air Force and still in the early testing stages, to date only 1 fully fuunctional prototype of this aircraft exists, and is one of the nations most closely guarded military secrets.  What is known is that the aircraft uses something called an Overbooster, which allows it to reach speeds previously thought impossible.
