Volksrad doesn't put the Audi logo on much these days, having designated it strictly for Nextgen product research, so when you do see it on a new vehicle, it means something special is happening.  The RSQ is no different.  It is quite possibly the most advanced car on the road, and basically re-imagines the automobile from scratch.  Beginning with, and most impressively, the drive system itself.  An electric/CHOOH2 hybrid that gets 40 miles to the gallon of a 20 gallon tank, with a performance comparable to any European supercar.  In addition, and further away from convention, the car does not run on wheels, instead it utilizes spheres driven by powerful electromagnetic generators, similar in concept to a mag-lev train, and originally conceived by a German researcher named Hanneford.  These mag driven spheres use the same system for an extremely intuitive braking system.  Most impressively, they also allow the vehicle to travel at full speed in any direction, including sideways. For safety reasons this feature has a computer lock on it, which effectively keeps the car’s driving performance in state with conventional driving due to the extreme maneuvers possible.  To have the system locks disengaged, you must pass the course with an Audi licensed instructor (driving skill of 6 required to pass), who will then code your DNA signature into the reader located on the steering wheel.

Mitsubishi was looking for a new concept, driving had once again become fashionable, and all the tricks that used to seem fabulous had now become standard.  The market, while at the height of fashion appeal, had become somewhat stale.  Then they came upon an idea.  For many years auto-companies had employed race car mechanics and car customizes to help them design the next wave.  They were going to take it to the other side of the fence.  They sought out the best getaway driver in the business, a man known only as Bean.  Whose legend in the underground world had spread far and wide in hushed whispers.  After an exhaustive search they managed to contact him, and after being given a hefty stipend (and rumors of immunity in Tokyo) they enlisted his help to design what he would consider a perfect vehicle.  He began with a custom suspension, which was needed to handle the massive cornering performance, as well as the weight of the heavy armor plating built into the chassis capable of withstanding even light assault weapons.  Then he implemented a complex 4 wheel drive system.  The system is so advanced, that in a stopped position, the wheels can rotate out to 90 degrees, allowing the entire care to move sideways.  Next came the engine, an 8 cylinder ram air, turbo charged monster, that not only handles the weight of the vehicle, but allows it to accelerate to 60 in six seconds.  The body of the car was the only dispute, he wanted to use a body design nearly identical to the body of the Toyochev Verge, due its roomy interior, and near invisibility on the streets fuel its popularity.  Mitsubishi built one in this style for test purposes, but adamantly refused when they realized that it would only serve to boosts the competitions sales to skyrocket proportions.  They wanted a sporty, muscle car design, and chose to go with that.  Bean stayed long enough to implement the rest of his design ideas, including door hatches (only useable when the windows are up), a self sealing environment system, and a leather interior.  Then he took his payment, and the sedan prototype, and went on his way.  The Mitsubishi marketing was outrageous, and controversial, showing the vehicle outrunning police and escaping, including making heavy use of the fact that the car was designed by an internationally wanted felon.  The vehicle was nearly banned in the US, Europe, and Japan, until it was pointed out that anyone who could actually afford the vehicle was unlikely to do anything illegal with it.  Its price tag is indeed hefty, but sales have been steady, and the car instantly became every gearheads dream machine.
